MINISTÈRE DES ARMÉES
ÉTAT-MAJOR DES ARMÉES (EMA)CENTRE DE PLANIFICATION ET DE CONDUITE DES OPÉRATIONS (CPCO)
SUBJECT: STRATEGIC OVERVIEW & CAMPAIGN PRIMER
CAMPAIGN: OPÉRATION ÉTOILE ROUGE (RED STAR)
THEATER: CHERNARUS (CAUCASUS REGION)
CLASSIFICATION: SECRET DÉFENSE
1. STRATEGIC CONTEXT
The sovereign state of Chernarus is currently facing an existential threat. Mirroring recent geopolitical escalations in Eastern Europe, the Russian Armed Forces (AFRF) have initiated a large-scale intervention aimed at occupying and annexing the Chernarus region.
This conventional invasion is being heavily supported by hybrid warfare tactics, utilizing local proxy forces and private military companies to destabilize the region from within. The legitimate government of Chernarus has appealed to the international community for immediate military assistance to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In response, NATO elements have been mobilized to the theater. France has deployed the GTIA Légion (Groupement Tactique Interarmes), operating in close coordination with United States Armed Forces, to halt the annexation and stabilize the region.
2. AREA OF OPERATIONS (AO)
Region: Republic of Chernarus (Eastern/Western Caucasus).
Terrain: Diverse geography featuring dense broadleaf forests, rolling hills, agricultural plains, and significant coastal infrastructure along the South Sea. The terrain offers ample concealment for mechanized forces and guerrilla elements alike.
Infrastructure: Soviet-era road networks, strategic rail lines, and multiple industrial centers that will serve as key objective points.
3. ORDER OF BATTLE (ORBAT) & FACTIONS
A. BLUFOR (ALLIED / COALITION FORCES)
Objective: Halt the Russian advance, restore Chernarussian sovereignty, and eliminate proxy forces.
GTIA Légion (French Foreign Legion):
SGTIA Chamoix: The primary French maneuver element in the sector.
Other SGTIA elements on standby as dictated by theater requirements.
United States Armed Forces:
Conventional: US Army Infantry Division(s) providing heavy armor, artillery, and logistical backbone.
Special Operations (SOCOM): US Special Forces operating in deep-reconnaissance, direct action, and foreign internal defense roles.
B. OPFOR (HOSTILE / INVADING FORCES)
Objective: Annex the Chernarus region, destroy the Chernarussian Defense Forces, and expel NATO presence.
Russian Armed Forces (RUAF): Conventional near-peer threat. Heavy mechanized infantry (Motor Strelki), main battle tanks (T-72B3/T-90), rotary/fixed-wing CAS, and devastating theater-level artillery/electronic warfare capabilities.
PMC Wagner Group (or equivalent PMCs): Deniable, highly aggressive mercenary elements utilized for shock assaults and securing high-value strategic assets.
C. GREENFOR / INDEPENDENT (LOCAL FACTIONS)
The local landscape is fractured, presenting a highly volatile operational environment requiring strict Rules of Engagement (ROE) and Positive Identification (PID).
CDF (Chernarussian Defense Forces) - ALIGNED WITH BLUFOR:
The official state military of Chernarus. Utilizing primarily legacy Soviet equipment. They are fighting a desperate defensive war for their homeland and serve as our primary local allies.
ChDKZ (Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star) - ALIGNED WITH OPFOR:
Pro-Russian separatist insurgents (colloquially known as "Chedakis"). They are heavily armed and supplied by Moscow, operating as a fifth column to sabotage CDF and NATO efforts.
Unknown Third Parties (Unconfirmed Intel):
Reports indicate the presence of other private military organizations, independent nationalist militias, and other third party actos exploiting the fog of war. Human Intelligence (HUMINT) gathering is a priority to categorize these elements as Hostile or Neutral.
4. INITIAL POSTURE & DIRECTIVES
Forces are currently staging in secure assembly areas. SGTIA Chamois is to prepare for immediate high-intensity combat operations. The threat environment includes heavy armor, advanced anti-aircraft systems (SHORAD/SAM), and sophisticated artillery networks.
AWAITING MAP INTELLIGENCE AND OPORD 01 DELIVERABLES.
