OPORD 06: "OPERATION EQUILIBRE"
LÉGIO PATRIA NOSTRA
GTIA "LÉGION" / PCIAT HQ: BOA NAPOLEON DTG: [DATE REDACTED]
OPORD 06: "OPERATION EQUILIBRE - SOUTHERN SHIELD"
REFERENCES: A. Map Series: KUNAR_VALLEY_50K_V2 B. AAR OP 05 (Sangar Sweep)
TIME ZONE: ZULU
1. SITUATION
A. General (Situation Générale)
Following the destruction of the insurgent mechanized battalion in the Sangar Valley, the Eastern flank (Zaymur River) is stable. However, an insurgent pocket remains in the Khoran Rud valley, specifically in and around the village of KHUNBAR (bypassed during OP 03). Neutralizing this pocket will completely secure the southernmost grid sector (Korengal River - Khoran Rud - Zaymur River), eliminating the threat of a southern flank attack on our MSRs.
Cave Complex (West of Khunbar): Intelligence indicates a suspected insurgent hideout/supply cache in the cave networks West of Khunbar. Status: Unconfirmed strength, highly defensible.
Korangal Valley Defenders: Entrenched insurgent forces located at Ali Abad, Kandlay, COP Korangal (Insurgent Held), and Firebase Vegas. These elements control the entrance to the Korangal River Valley.
C. Friendly Forces (AMIS)
GREEN 1 (Section Vert 1): Main Maneuver & Assault Element.
NOIR 5-1 (2 REP): Attached Sniper/Fire Support Element.
OP MURAT: Operational. Providing overwatch on the North-Western Tora-Sayyad river approach.
Air Assets: Due to the destruction of enemy mobile AA in OP 05, Close Air Support (CAS) via Rotary and Fixed-Wing assets is now AVAILABLE and on-station.
2. MISSION
GREEN 1 and attached elements are to CLEAR the village of Khunbar and the adjacent cave complex in order to secure the Southern flank. BE PREPARED TO (BPT) transition to the North to SEIZE Ali Abad, COP Korangal, Kandlay, and Firebase Vegas to secure the entrance of the Korangal River Valley.
3. EXECUTION
A. Commander's Intent
My intent is to permanently seal the southern battlespace. By clearing the Khoran Rud valley, we deny the enemy their last staging ground in the South. Once secured, and assuming combat effectiveness remains high, we will exploit this momentum to kick the door in on the Korangal Valley. We will leverage our newly regained air superiority to soften hardened targets before infantry assaults.
B. Concept of Operations
The operation will be conducted in two phases:
PHASE 1: SECURING KHORAN RUD (Main Effort)
Support by Fire:NOIR 5-1 will infiltrate and establish a high-altitude sniper/overwatch position on the mountain ridgeline between BOA Napoleon and Khunbar.
Task: Provide early warning, overwatch, and precision elimination of high-value targets in Khunbar.
Assault:GREEN 1 will advance into the Khoran Rud valley.
Objective 1: Investigate, isolate, and clear the suspected Cave Complex West of Khunbar. Expect CQB (Close Quarters Battle) and booby traps.
Objective 2: Assault and clear KHUNBAR village.
End State (Phase 1): Khoran Rud valley is completely clear. The Southern Grid is 100% secured.
PHASE 2: KORANGAL GATE (Conditional / On Order)
Trigger: Phase 1 successfully completed; Green 1 reports high combat effectiveness; PCIAT authorizes advance.
Maneuver: Green 1 displaces North towards the Korangal River Valley entrance.
Assault Sequence:
Clear the village of ALI ABAD (previously aborted in OP 02).
Assault and seize the insurgent-held COP KORANGAL and adjacent KANDLAY village.
Assault and secure FIREBASE VEGAS.
Overwatch:OP MURAT will monitor the Tora-Sayyad river axis to prevent any enemy flanking maneuvers from the Northwest.
Air Support: Rotary CAS will provide heavy suppression on Firebase Vegas and COP Korangal prior to the Green 1 ground assault.
C. Coordinating Instructions
Cave Clearance Protocol: Do not commit the entire platoon into subterranean environments. Utilize explosives/flashbangs and clear methodically. If the cave network is too extensive, designate for combat engineer demolition (MINEX) at a later date.
ROE:RESTRICTIVE. Civilians expected in Khunbar, Ali Abad and Kandlay.
All civilians are to be detained (Prisoners) and moved to the rear (CP Arcole -> BOA Napoleon).
No unobserved indirect fire into the town center unless troops are in extremis.
Fire Support:
GBUs: Priority to confirmed Armor (T-72/BMP).
Mortars: 81mm/120mm available on call.
Prisoner Handling: Green 1-0 designates PCP. Extraction by Green Command logistics.
CAS Integration: Green 1-0 is designated as the primary JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) on the ground.
4. SERVICE SUPPORT (LOGISTIQUE)
A. Supply
Rations: 24hrs on person.
Ammo: Basic load. Extra 5.56mm and 7.62mm linked available via vehicle resupply.
Water: Critical. 3L per man minimum.
Vehicle Recovery: VBCIs are self-recovering where possible; heavy recovery assets at BOA Napoleon on standby.
B. Medical
CCP (Casualty Collection Point): TBD by medical team.
Role 1: embedded with Green 1-0.
Role 2: BOA Napoleon Medical Station.
