    OPORD 01: "OPERATION EQUILIBRE"

    LÉGIO PATRIA NOSTRA

    ISSUING HEADQUARTERS: GTIA "LÉGION" (PCIAT)

LOCATION: BOA NAPOLEON, KUNAR PROVINCE DTG (Date Time Group): 140600ZOCT11

    REFERENCES: A. Map Series: KUNAR_VALLEY_50K_V2 B. INTEL SUM: ISUM_RED_FACTION_04 C. ROE CARD: 32-ALPHA (STABILIZATION)

TIME ZONE USED THROUGHOUT THE ORDER: ZULU (Local +4.5)

    1. SITUATION

    A. General

The GTIA (Groupement Tactique Interarmes) has assumed responsibility for the Southern Korengal and Pech sectors following the withdrawal of US SOCOM elements. The region is currently unstable due to a power vacuum and fractured relations between local governance and Western forces.

    B. Terrain & Weather

    1. Terrain: High-altitude, compartmentalized mountainous terrain. Restrictive roads limit heavy armor maneuverability to the valley floor. Steep gradients favor dismounted infantry.
    2. Weather: Autumn transition. Clear mornings (0600-1100). CRITICAL: Heavy fog develops in valley floors starting 1500L, severely limiting Rotary Wing (CAS/EVAC) availability.
    3. Light: B.M.N.T (Begin Morning Nautical Twilight): 0545L. E.E.N.T (End Evening Nautical Twilight): 1830L.

    C. Enemy Forces (OPFOR - "Red Faction")

    1. Identity: Al-Ghuraba (The Strangers).
    2. Assessment: Hardline extremist insurgents operating out of the central "Grey Zone."
    3. Capabilities:
    4. Effective mortar fire (82mm) from high ground.
    5. IED emplacement on Main Supply Routes (MSR).
    6. Use of cave networks for concealment.
    7. Drill: Likely to engage with ambushes and retreat to prepared positions.
    8. Addition: They operate in squad-sized elements (8-12 pax) utilizing the compartmented terrain for concealment.
    9. Recent Activities: Enemy forces have been conducting effective 82mm mortar fire from high ground positions overlooking BOA Napoleon. Increased IED emplacement has been noted on the Main Supply Routes (MSR) leading north. Most Likely Enemy Course of Action (MLCOA): The enemy will likely utilize ambush tactics on the valley floor while using high ground for observation and indirect fire. Upon contact, they are expected to retreat to prepared defensive positions in cave networks rather than holding ground.

    D. Neutral Forces (GREENFOR - "The Council")

    1. Identity: Local Shadow Government / Independent Militia.
    2. Stance: NEUTRAL-HOSTILE.
    3. Intent: They hold the Northern "Green Zone" (Pech Valley, Nangalam, Airfield). They have severed ties with NATO. They will defend their territory if encroached upon but are not currently conducting offensive operations against us.

    E. Friendly Forces (BLUFOR)

    1. GTIA LÉGION:
    2. SGTIA 1 & 2: Elements of 2e REP and 2e REI.
    3. SGTIA Blindé: Elements of 1er REC).
    4. Sapeurs: Elements of 1er REG.
    5. Air Assets: 2x Gazelle (CAS), 1x Puma (Logistics/Lift) on standby at BOA Napoleon.

    2. MISSION

GTIA LÉGION is to SECURE the immediate approaches to the Korengal Valley and ESTABLISH a dominant observation posture in order to DENY insurgent freedom of movement and facilitate future stabilization efforts.

    3. EXECUTION

    A. Commander's Intent

We must secure our own doorstep before pushing into the valley. My intent is to seize the high ground overlooking BOA Napoleon to prevent mortar attacks on our HQ, while simultaneously locking down the primary road access at Ashat Village.

    1. Key Success Factor: Speed of engineering works on White Mountain.
    2. End State: White Mountain is a fortified Observation Post (OP), Ashat Village is secure, and MSR is cleared of mines.

    B. Concept of Operations

This phase will be conducted in two simultaneous efforts:

    1. Effort Alpha (Vertical): Assault onto White Mountain to clear spotters and build OP Mont Blanc.
    2. Effort Bravo (Horizontal): Ground mechanized push to clear and secure Ashat Village.

    C. Tasks to Subordinate Units

    1. SGTIA 1:

    1. Task: Conduct Assault onto EAGLE (White Mountain).
    2. Purpose: Clear the ridgeline of Red Faction spotters.
    3. Follow-on: Provide force protection for Engineers constructing the OP.

    2. SGTIA Blindé:

    1. Task: Advance North along MSR TEXAS.
    2. Purpose: Seize and Secure ASHAT VILLAGE.
    3. Constraint: Do not push past Phase Line (PL) BRONZE (North of Ashat) to avoid overextending into the kill zone of OP Restrepo.

    3. Sapeurs:

    1. Task 1: Route clearance (MINEX) leading to Ashat.
    2. Task 2: Construct "OP MONT BLANC" (Hesco barriers, bunkers) on White Mountain.

    D. Coordinating Instructions

    1. H-Hour: 0600L.
    2. ROE (Card 32-Alpha):
    3. Self-Defense applies.
    4. Positive ID (PID) required for all engagements.
    5. GREENFOR: DO NOT ENGAGE unless fired upon. If challenged by Green Militia, Halt and Report to Command.
    6. Civilian Structures: No HE (High Explosive) fire into buildings unless troops are in imminent danger.

    4. ADMINISTRATION & LOGISTICS

    A. Supply

    1. Rations: 24hrs on person.
    2. Ammo: Basic load. Extra 5.56mm and 7.62mm linked available via vehicle resupply.
    3. Water: Critical. 3L per man minimum.

    B. Medical

    1. CCP (Casualty Collection Point): Established at Ashat Village once secure.
    2. Role 1: BOA Napoleon Medical Station.
    3. MEDEVAC:
    4. Category A (Urgent): Launch Scramble.
    5. Category B (Priority): Ground convoy if road is clear.
